The Rios de Hielo (Ice Rivers) excursion begins at Punta Bandera Port, which is 55 km away from El Calafate. During the tour along the Northern Branch of Argentino Lake, tourist may admire the fascinating contrast among the different shades of blue and white of the glaciers, apart from having the opportunity of living an unforgettable experience.

The first glacier tourist will see during the Rios de Hielo excursion is Upsala Glacier, which is —due to its area of 595 km² and altitude of 60-80 m — the largest glacier in Argentino Lake. Once at Onelli Bay, the tour continues with a walk through the woods up to Onelli Lake, which is decorated with the ice floes calved from Onelli, Agassi and Bolado Glaciers (42 km², 31 km² and 16 km², respectively). Then, visitors get on board again and sail up to Spegazzini Glacier (66 km²), the highest glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. After disembarking at Punta Bandera Port, they are driven back to El Calafate.
