Salinas Grandes Tour in Salta & Jujuy

Travel and Tourism - Salinas Grandes Argentina

Salinas Grandes (Big Salar) —a huge white salt sea (212 km²) — is located on the border between the Argentine provinces of Salta and Jujuy.

During the excursion to Salinas Grandes, tourists will pass several eye-catching Northern villages, such as Yala, Volcan and Tumbaya. After passing Purmamarca, the tour continues to Cuesta de Lipan (Lipan’s Slope), a winding road that climbs 4140 m above sea level, from where tourists may enjoy their first panoramic view of the third largest salt pan in the world. In the excursion to Salinas Grandes, tourists may have lunch at Restaurant de Sal (Salt Restaurant), take an up-close look at the pools where the product is processed and buy salt sculptures made by the workers of the salt pan.

A not-to-be-missed tour in which all tourists will be impressed by the immensity of this white desert.
